WIC Digital & Intelligent Health Working Group Holds Progress Meeting
On September 22, the World Internet Conference (WIC) Digital & Intelligent Health Working Group held a progress meeting in Beijing. The meeting focused on key areas including international exchanges and cooperation in digital and intelligent health, inclusive global health, innovation in emerging fields, and the practical application of innovations developed through collaboration among industry, academia and research institutions.
Participants drew on their respective areas of expertise to exchange views on the group’s annual priorities, division of responsibilities, implementation plans and delivery of results, reaching consensus on the work ahead.
They agreed that the working group should build on its role as an international platform and leverage the resources and strengths of its member organizations to deepen innovation at the intersection of digital technologies and healthcare, and further strengthen international exchanges and cooperation. They called for solid progress on key tasks, including collecting cases of innovative practice and preparation for the annual forum, and for practical measures to ensure effective results.
Going forward, the working group will regularly organize academic discussions, industry networking, international exchanges and project incubation. It will continue to build a high-level international platform for exchange and cooperation, enhance its innovation capacity and international influence in digital and intelligent health, and lay a solid foundation for the establishment of a specialized committee.
Representatives from Peking University Third Hospital, NVIDIA, Xunfei Healthcare, Ant Group, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Chinese Medical Information and Big Data Association, WeDoctor Group, Waterdrop Inc., Keeson Technology Corporation Limited, Qingsong Health Group and Phoenix TV attended the meeting.
The WIC Digital & Intelligent Health Working Group was officially established in July during the 2026 WIC Digital Silk Road Development Forum in Xi’an, Northwest China’s Shaanxi province. It serves as an important platform for the WIC to advance international cooperation, industrial innovation and inclusive development in digital and intelligent health.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
