Coming soon | New chapter on Digital Silk Road
More than 2,000 years after the ancient Silk Road began in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, the city continues to connect the world in new ways through digital innovation.
On July 21–22, the 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum returns to Xi'an — bringing together ministerial-level officials, diplomatic envoys, and representatives of international organizations and the internet industry.
Participants will exchange views on Silk Road e-commerce cooperation, collaborative innovation of AI agents, cultural heritage preservation and transmission in the digital-intelligent era. They'll talk about digital and intelligent health and other key topics — exploring new opportunities for international digital cooperation and shaping the future of the Digital Silk Road.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
