AI-driven digital trade to be a highlight at 2026 WIC Digital Silk Road Development Forum
The 2026 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum will be held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, from July 21 to 22.
At a news conference held in Beijing on July 6, WIC Secretary-General Ren Xianliang highlighted one of the key initiatives of this forum.
The WIC Digital & AI Academy will organize capacity-building programs and study tours on AI-driven digital trade for government officials, business leaders and industry professionals worldwide — especially those from developing countries, according to Ren.
Since its establishment, the WIC has trained more than 500 professionals from dozens of countries through its capacity-building programs — providing strong talent support for international digital cooperation.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
