The World Internet Conference Digital & AI Academy will organize a Capacity Building on AI-Driven Digital Trade program, on the sidelines of the 2026 WIC Digital Silk Road Development Forum.
Bringing together government officials, business leaders and industry professionals from developing countries, the program will provide a platform for learning, exchange and collaboration on the latest developments in digital trade in the AI era. Participants will explore emerging opportunities and challenges, share practical experiences, and gain insights into how AI is reshaping global digital trade, with a view to strengthening the competitiveness of developing countries in this rapidly evolving field.
Since the launch of targeted enrollment, the program has received applications from government officials and business representatives from countries and regions including Russia, India, Pakistan, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone. Registration is now open to interested parties worldwide. Places are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Experts from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the Data and Technical Support Center of the Cyberspace Administration of China, and leading companies will deliver lectures on the key challenges, opportunities and emerging trends facing developing countries in advancing digital trade in the AI era. Through cutting-edge theoretical insights, practical case studies and interactive discussions, the program aims to help developing countries effectively address the challenges associated with digitalization, strengthen data sovereignty protection and governance, and seize the opportunities created by AI for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Field Study
Drawing on Xi’an’s strengths in digital trade and cross-border e-commerce, the field study will focus on three core areas: smart logistics services at ports, digitalized supply chain operations in trade, and cross-border import and export management on the regulatory side. Participants will visit representative projects and facilities to gain first-hand insights into the development of smart ports, AI-enabled applications across the cross-border trade value chain, and the cultivation of AI industry ecosystems, while learning from advanced practices in digital and intelligent transformation.
