Five-step official guide to the 2026 WIC Distinguished Contribution Award

The World Internet Conference (WIC) established the Distinguished Contribution Award in 2024 to recognize individuals and enterprises that have made outstanding contributions to the global internet sector.

The enterprise track of the 2026 award includes three categories: Social Contribution, Innovative Breakthrough and Growth Potential. Submissions are open to all enterprises engaged in internet-related technologies, business models or ecosystems. The award aims to recognize pioneering efforts and exceptional contributions across industries in the internet field.

The award ceremony will be held during the opening ceremony of the 2026 WIC Wuzhen Summit.

Enterprises should endorse WIC’s mission, meet the basic eligibility requirements for the selected category and satisfy one or more additional criteria. Each enterprise may apply for up to two categories. Previous award-winning enterprises may reapply for the same category only after skipping one edition.

I. Application Procedure

1. Platform access and registration

Visit the WIC Awards Application Platform: https://awards.wicinternet.org 

First-time users must register an account; existing users may log in directly. 

2. Select category

After logging in, enter the “Distinguished Contribution Award” section. 

Select a category (Social Contribution / Innovative Breakthrough / Growth Potential) and click “Apply Now”. 

3. Complete application information

Fill in basic information accurately. We suggest to providing the enterprise name in both English and Chinese (if applicable) in the format of “123 Company (Chinese name)”. 

Fill in all the required information in detail. The platform provides an online Chinese-English translation function for review by global experts. To improve accuracy, applicants are encouraged to submit information in both English and Chinese.

4. Upload supporting materials

The platform supports multiple file formats. Prepare and upload materials in accordance with system requirements. 

It is recommended to upload both English and Chinese versions (if available). 

5. Save draft and submit

It is recommended to save drafts regularly during editing (status will appear as “Pending Submission”). If re-login is required after refreshing the page, return to the application page and click “Edit” to continue. 

After confirming all information is accurate, click “Submit” (status will change to “Under Review”). 

Important: After submission, the application can be viewed but not modified. 

Submission deadline: 17:00 (Beijing time), July 13, 2026. 

II. Application Notes

1. Alignment with category requirements

Ensure the content closely matches the selected category. For example, the Social Contribution category should highlight corporate social responsibility, sustainable development practices, and social value creation. 

2. Clear and comprehensive content

Present information with clear logic, including an overview, specific measures, and outcomes. 

Use accurate, concise, and professional language. For bilingual submissions, key terminology should follow standard industry translations. 

3. Requirements for supporting materials

Upload files of appropriate size to facilitate review and download. 

Clearly label each file, including document type (eg, audit report, patent certificate) and time frame (eg, 2025–2026).
