Digital Finance Forum held at 2026 WIC Asia-Pacific Summit in HK

The Digital Finance Forum of the World Internet Conference (WIC) Asia-Pacific Summit took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on April 14, under the theme "Digital Intelligence Empowers New Momentum in Finance." 

Ren Xianliang, Secretary-General of WIC, and Radomír Šalitroš, State Secretary I of Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, attended and addressed the forum.

Executives from TMTPost Group, Ping An Digital Bank, HashKey Group and the World Intellectual Property Organization delivered keynote speeches on financial risk control and compliance development in the era of digital intelligence.

They shared the profound impact of digital and intelligent technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data on the identification, assessment and response models of financial risks, explored ways to leverage technology for more effective and efficient financial compliance and risk control management, and reinforced the compliance bottom line in the digital intelligence era.

A second group of speakers gave presentations on the practical exploration of financial institutions in advancing digital transformation. They are from Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd., Ping An Technology, HKEX Group, IBM Hong Kong and Zetrix AI Berhad. 

The third group of keynote speeches, centered on the theme Digital Intelligence Technologies Enabling Finance to Serve the Real Economy, featured executives from China Internet Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd., Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, Cisco Greater China and Asia Academy of Digital Economics.

They shared case studies of how digital and intelligent technologies have lowered the threshold of financial services and improved service quality and efficiency, and offered their insights on steering financial services for the real economy toward a more efficient, secure, and inclusive new stage in the era of digital intelligence.

Two reports from the WIC Think Tank Cooperation Program were released at the forum. They are Grasping the Global Wave of Data Elements Market Development Practices and Prospects of Trusted Data Spaces presented by China Unicom (Hong Kong) Innovation Research Institute Limited, and Research Report on Cross-Border Data Flow Mechanisms in the Asia-Pacific Region developed by the Institute of Internet Governance and Law at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

The forum also featured a launch ceremony for the ASTRON Network International Super Node (Hong Kong, China), alongside its intelligent strategy release.

The event was co-hosted by the WIC and Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd.‌. It drew participants from government agencies, industry organizations, businesses, and academia around the world.
