As artificial intelligence evolves from the “thinking” stage into the “acting” mode, a new wave of industry transformation driven by AI agents is gaining momentum.

Serving as a key bridge between the digital world and real-world applications, these agents are accelerating the shift of AI development from isolated capacity breakthroughs to system-wide collaborative growth, from passive responses to autonomous executions — ushering in a new stage that is defined by perception, decision-making and action.

Against this background, the Forum on Innovation and Application of AI Agent will be held on April 14 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, as part of the 2026 World Internet Conference (WIC) Asia-Pacific Summit.

Hosted by the WIC and co-organized by Yinxiang Biji, the forum is themed on “From Technological Innovation to Ecological Collaboration—Forging a New Paradigm for Agent Development.”

The event will bring together representatives from government agencies, international organizations, enterprises and research institutions to explore advances in AI agent technology, their industrial applications and ecosystem developments.

The forum will feature a keynote session, where topics such as multi-agent collaboration mechanisms, platform frameworks, standards development and security governance will be discussed.

Participants will examine how to foster coordinated ecosystems amid rapid technological iterations while ensuring robust security in an open, interconnected environment — advancing AI agents from capability breakthroughs to structured, system-level development.

Industry leaders will also share practical insights into AI agent application across sectors such as education, finance, and logistics, as well as in key scenarios including marketing and customer services.

They will present case studies that highlight how AI agents are evolving from technical tools into robust engines of industrial growth, improving efficiency and accelerating the broader digital transformation.

From technological innovation to ecosystem collaborations and from theoretical explorations to real-world deployments, the forum aims to offer a comprehensive overview of emerging trends and the growing value of AI agents, promoting the development of a new paradigm that features openness, connectivity and win-win outcomes.

The 2026 WIC Asia-Pacific Summit will take place from April 13 to 14 in Hong Kong.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
