2025 World Internet Conference Distinguished Contribution Award

Growth Potential award-winning enterprise: Ant Misuan

Ant Misuan is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ant Group that is dedicated to enabling the trusted circulation of data. It pioneered next-generation privacy-preserving computing technology — cryptographic computing.

This technology integrates cryptography, trusted hardware and system security technologies to provide full-chain encrypted protection and end-to-end trusted governance of data, effectively preventing data leakage and misuse.

Products and services developed by Ant Misuan, including its secret-state trusted data space, represent a new form of trusted data circulation infrastructure that is low-cost, high-performance and secure across the full data chain.

These solutions support the establishment of a secure and trustworthy data circulation system and contribute to the development of a unified national data element market.

Ant Misuan evolved from Ant Group's privacy-preserving computing team and is among the earliest pioneers in the field. The company has independently developed a full-stack technology portfolio, which encompasses security chips, secure operating systems, confidential computing technology stacks, privacy-preserving computing frameworks, secret-state large models and data circulation hubs.

To date, Ant Misuan has filed more than 1,700 patent applications in privacy-preserving computing, ranking first globally. It has led or participated in the formulation of 117 domestic and international standards related to privacy-preserving computing, with the number of international standards initiated by the company ranking first nationwide.

Ant Misuan's cryptographic computing technologies have been widely applied across sectors — including agriculture, healthcare, finance and transportation — helping to build trusted data circulation networks.

In the field of healthcare insurance claims, the technology supported Beijing in launching the country's first integrated settlements center for public medical insurance and commercial insurance. This enables one-stop, synchronized settlement, allowing policyholders to complete claims instantly without submitting additional materials.

In agricultural credit, Ant Misuan has helped banks extend credit to more than 13 million farmers across over 2,600 counties nationwide. Around 80 percent of these farmers cultivate less than 10 mu (0.67 hectares) of land — groups traditionally underserved by conventional credit models.

In new energy vehicles insurance pricing, Ant Misuan has supported the development of innovative actuarial pricing models. These models reduced premiums by an average of 8 percent for about 80 percent of low-risk vehicle owners, while differentiated pricing also helped insurers reduce their risk exposure.

Since July 2022, Ant Misuan has progressively open-sourced its core technologies in privacy-preserving computing, forming a mature technical framework and a solid foundation for industry adoption.

In 2025, in response to national data infrastructure policy guidance, the SecretFlow open source community further expanded into an integrated technology ecosystem — covering trusted data spaces, data components, data networks, blockchain and privacy-preserving computing. This marked its evolution from a privacy-preserving computing community into a full-stack technology community for data element circulation.

Looking ahead, Ant Misuan will continue to build on its open, transparent, security-native and highly interoperable SecretFlow trusted data circulation technology community.

Through open-source and open collaboration, the company aims to advance trusted data circulation technologies and application ecosystems, accelerate technical interoperability and industrial deployment and empower key sectors including healthcare, finance, urban governance, and manufacturing, unlocking data value across industries and supporting high-quality digital development.

In 2024, the World Internet Conference established the WIC Distinguished Contribution Award to recognize individuals and enterprises that have made outstanding contributions in global internet-related fields.

To date, 12 leading figures and 26 well-known business enterprises from around the world have received the award.

For enterprises, the award features three categories — Social Contribution, Innovation Breakthrough, and Growth Potential.

The awarded companies span a wide range of sectors — including internet platforms, mobile communications, artificial intelligence, chip designs, energy and power and cybersecurity.

Together, they depict a diverse and thriving internet ecosystem, encouraging more outstanding enterprises to engage in the development of the internet and to jointly explore the limitless possibilities of the digital future.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
