A review meeting for the World Internet Conference (WIC) 2025 Collection of Cross-Border E-Commerce Practice Cases was held in Beijing on Aug 18. The event gathered leading experts, scholars, and representatives from social organizations, research institutions, and enterprises in the cross-border e-commerce sector, to discuss the collection’s overall framework and case content.
The research team outlined the methodology, classification system, and case selection results. Based on earlier field research, case solicitation, and evaluation, the collection is organized into seven major sections: government coordination, trading platforms, platform merchants, logistics and distribution, integrated services, innovative integration, and international cooperation.
During the exchange session, experts from the Advisory Committee of the United Nations Network of Experts for Paperless Trade and Transport in Asia and the Pacific (UNNExT), the Expert Committee of the APEC E-Commerce Business Alliance, the National Academy of Economic Strategy at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the China International Electronic Commerce Centre, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Sub-Council, as well as representatives from JD.com, and Xiaohongshu, shared ideas with the research team and offered suggestions.
Experts agreed that the collection is comprehensive and substantive, capturing mature experiences and exemplary cases in the cross-border e-commerce field. It reflects innovation across the entire industry chain and offers valuable reference material. They also suggested further refinements to the framework and report text.
The 2025 Collection of Cross-Border E-Commerce Practice Cases will be officially released at an upcoming WIC event. By sharing adaptable practices from diverse markets, the collection aims to support ongoing innovation in organizational models, digital technologies, and business practices, thereby advancing the high-quality development of global cross-border e-commerce.
