Ren Xianliang, secretary-general of the WIC, emphasized the importance of the promoting cross-border digital collaboration at the press conference for the 2025 World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum on July 3.
Ren noted that hosting the forum in Quanzhou, a historic starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, in East China's Fujian province, bridges historical heritage with a digital future and aligns with the forum's theme "Embracing the Digital and Intelligent Maritime Silk Road – Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace". The forum upholds the Maritime Silk Road spirit of peace, cooperation, openness, and inclusiveness, while leveraging Fujian's digital economy strengths to drive maritime digital transformation, enhancing Belt and Road cooperation in e-commerce, data connectivity and smart ports, thereby advancing global digital connectivity. This reflects broader vision of the Digital Silk Road - reinventing maritime connectivity through digital civilization.
