Ren Xianliang, secretary-general of the World Internet Conference (WIC), met with Gu Lei, chief impact officer of McDonald's China, in Beijing on March 27.

Ren commended McDonald's China as a leading example of digital transformation in the global catering industry, and said the company enjoys extensive opportunities of collaboration with the WIC, which joined the organization as a member last year. He welcomed McDonald's China's active participation in various WIC activities and working groups and expressed his hope to deepen cooperation between the two organizations to jointly advance the building of a community with a shared future in cyberspace.

Gu expressed appreciation for the WIC’s recognition of and support for her company. She highlighted McDonald's China's expertise in digital operations and digital skills training  for employees, and affirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the WIC, engaging in its initiatives, and supporting its growth and development.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
