From finance hub to tech powerhouse: Hong Kong’s vision for the future
Speaking at the press briefing on March 17, Sun Dong, secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, emphasized that Hong Kong is committed to transforming itself from a financial, trade, and shipping center to a world-class innovation and technology hub.
Key areas of focus for Hong Kong's future development include AI, data science, and robotics, all crucial to the digital economy. Hong Kong is rapidly advancing its technology industry, positioning itself as a global leader in innovation, Sun said.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
