At the press briefing for the upcoming the World Internet Conference Asia-Pacific Summit held on Monday, Ren Xianliang, secretary-general of the WIC, announced that a promotion event for two flagship initiatives of the WIC — the Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace (Practice Cases) and the World Internet Conference Awards for Pioneering Science and Technology (WIC Awards) will be held during the summit from April 14 to 15 in Hong Kong.
Ren noted that the promotion event will provide a comprehensive overview of this year’s submission and evaluation procedures, including application guidelines and highlights from previous award-winning projects. The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
