Hong Kong, known as a global hub for finance, trade and shipping, is also a center for cultural and technological convergence. Its open and inclusive spirit, coupled with its drive for innovation, aligns seamlessly with the principles of AI development, making it an ideal location for the World Internet Conference (WIC) Asia-Pacific Summit, said Ren Xianliang, WIC secretary-general, at a press conference in Beijing on Monday.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
