At the AI Computing Power Development Forum, held under the theme “Building an Integrated, Inclusive, and Green AI Computing Power Ecosystem,” Besik Bugianishvili, chief executive director and chairman of the Board of Directors of the JSC Development Fund of Georgia, outlined Georgia's ambition to become a key player in the global AI landscape. The forum was hosted by the World Internet Conference during the Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, Spain on March 4.

Bugianishvili highlighted Georgia's unique geographical advantage at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, historically a vital Silk Road link. Today, this positioning remains crucial as Georgia seeks to bridge trade, energy, and technological innovation, he noted.

Georgia is actively promoting AI adoption across diverse sectors, including healthcare, education, agriculture, and biotechnology, according to Bugianishvili, saying the goal is to enhance efficiency, boost economic competitiveness, and ensure that the benefits of AI transformation are widely shared.

He emphasized the importance of integrating green energy into AI infrastructure, particularly through hydropower and solar energy projects. The Development Fund of Georgia is collaborating with domestic and international companies to develop high-tech solar energy farms that will support future AI-powered data centers and digital infrastructure, he said.

Bugianishvili closed his speech by inviting international stakeholders to collaborate with Georgia in building a digitally empowered future, saying the Development Fund of Georgia is actively seeking partnerships that will translate vision into tangible progress, reinforcing the nation's role as a bridge between continents and a partner in AI-driven development.
