BFSU, China Customs Society, Tsinghua University, and UIBE to join WIC as new non-profit institution members

The sixth meeting of the first Council of the World Internet Conference (WIC) adopted the List of New WIC Members, seeing more members join the WIC organization.

Here is the introduction of new non-profit institution members of the WIC:

Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU)

Beijing Foreign Studies University is among the first batch of universities listed in the Project 211 and Project 985, and the first batch of universities included in the Double First-Class Initiative. It has vigorously promoted the reform of talent training mechanism and established the first teaching material department in domestic universities. It has established the Artificial Intelligence and Human Languages Lab to strengthen the development of international communication capability. It has also established the Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture, the Research Center for Country-specific Translation and Interpretation Capacity and other thematic research institutions. With the strategy of promoting talent training, academic studies and international exchanges, the goal of building an international, high-level and comprehensive world-class foreign language university with distinctive characteristics and the mission of "learning with an open mind and serving a great cause", BFSU will cultivate more professional interdisciplinary talent with global perspective.

China Customs Society

China Customs Society, founded in China in 1985, is an academic, professional and authoritative non-profit social organization engaged in studying global theoretical and practical issues related to customs. Over the years, its research areas have expanded from customs taxation, supervision, statistics and combating smuggling to the management and supervision of port health and safety, national biosecurity, food safety and commodity quality and safety, etc. While diving into new research areas, China Customs Society has accumulated a lot of theoretical research results and proactively proposed numerous practical suggestions, driving the innovative development of global customs.

Tsinghua University

Tsinghua University, a famous institution of higher learning in China, is an important base for high-level talent training and scientific and technological research in China. University of International Business and Economics

The University of International Business and Economics is one of the first batch of universities in China's Double First-Class Initiative and the first batch of universities in Project 211. It is the first higher education institution in China that is dedicated to cultivating specialized talents in foreign trade. The university has a wide range of disciplines, covering six major categories of economics, management, law, literature, science and engineering, with 55 bachelor's degree programs, as well as12 master's degree programs and 10 doctor's degree programs for first-level disciplines. The university is known for its high-quality, innovative, and international talent cultivation features.
