Diana Alvarez is a leader in international development, with expertise as a program and policy manager in multilateral affairs. Her experience includes working at the European Parliament, the United Nations, global health NGOs, in management consulting, and with the World Economic Forum. In the last decade, Diana has led initiatives related to migration, food security, global health, and the integration of social impact initiatives within corporate business strategies. At the UN, Diana focused on migration policy and governance, collaborating with national governments and improving global healthcare access through digital health projects. At the World Economic Forum, she supported the leadership journey and community engagement of Young Global Leaders (YGLs) from Latin America, cultivating collaboration on societal impact initiatives and managing regional programming, events, and partnerships. Diana holds a master's degree in international and European Studies from SciencesPo, with additional studies in migration, communication, and sustainability from Oxford, Harvard, and Cambridge. Her goal is to utilize information and communication technologies to advance the UN SDGs, with a particular focus on financial inclusion, health systems, sustainable agriculture, digital health, and education.


The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
