Forum to pool youth voice for digital future

Young people are the driving force behind innovation, progress, and positive change worldwide. Their energy, creativity, and fresh perspectives are essential for building a sustainable and inclusive future. Young people are also vital to social development, and they have been playing a dynamic role in building a community with a shared future for humanity.

To further empower young people globally and build a high-level platform for international exchange and cooperation among young people in the internet sector, the World Internet Conference (WIC) launched the Global Youth Leadership Program (GYLP) last year as part of its annual event. This initiative selects outstanding young people in the global internet field, closely follows the frontier trends in internet technology, industry and governance, and carries out forum, training and research activities.

Over the past two years, the GYLP has attracted participation from young people across 85 countries and regions. Young people are gathering in this program to express their ideas and taking action to contribute their passion and strength to global internet development and governance.

The Youth and Digital Future Forum of the 2024 WIC Wuzhen Summit will take place on Nov 21, withglobal youth leaders from 17 countries and regions attending the event. The forum is hosted by the WIC, and co-organized by Renmin University of China and the Confederation of Young Leaders of India. Themed “Passion, Connection, Action”, the forum aims to pool insights and enthusiasm from young people to explore the boundless possibilities of the digital future. The event will also include the release of the “World Internet Conference Global Youth Leaders Initiative”.
