WIC holds the 2024 global internet competition of "Straight to Wuzhen" worldwide regional launching ceremony in Beijing
On Aug 23, the 2024 global internet competition of "Straight to Wuzhen" worldwide regional launch ceremony along with the AI+ innovative application competition (Beijing Competition Area) and semifinals of intelligent connected vehicles was held in Beijing. Representatives from hosts and organizers including the World Internet Conference (WIC), Cyberspace Administration of Zhejiang Province, Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang as well as representatives of judges, partner institutions, and participating teams attended the event.

The competition combines global leading trends in innovation and hot topics in industrial development, focusing on fields such as intelligent connected automobiles, smart IoT, digital healthcare, industrial internet, and digital culture. By adapting to the current development trend, the competition featured a new track, AI+ innovative application, to continuously promote the exchange and cooperation of projects, technologies, talents, and capital among the global internet industry and speed up an in-depth integration of internet technologies and application scenarios in different industrial segments. Since its launch, it has attracted more than 1,000 projects from around the world. The event is becoming one of the most influential competitions in the internet industry, providing a powerful boost to the global internet technology innovation and vitality of internet entrepreneurship.
In addition to today's two semifinals, domestic semifinals of different tracks will be held in cities such as Shenzhen and Shanghai. The European Semifinal will be held in Paris, France, at the end of September. The Asia Pacific and North America Semifinals will be held online.
The AI+ innovative application competition (Beijing Competition Area) and the semifinals of intelligent connected vehicles have received nearly 300 submissions from across the country. After the preliminary review by experts, 32 projects advanced to the regional semifinal in Beijing. Experts and judges from Japan Science and Technology Agency, British Institute of Engineering and Technology, First Institute of Ministry of Public Security, Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology, China Society of Automobile Engineering, Zhongguancun AI Research Institute, China Internet Investment Fund, Sequoia Capital, Magic Stone Alternative and other institutions, were invited to the Beijing semifinal.

After intense competitions, six projects including Multimodel Generation Platform and Application for Smart Home and Home ElectricitySecurity - Power SupplyQuality Problem Management Solutions and Practices were successfully shortlisted for the final of the AI+ innovative application competition (Beijing Competition Area); and 10 leading projects such as R&D and Industrialization of Intelligent Control System for Chassis of New Energy Vehicles and Smart Automobile Network Security Solution deCORE AUTO stood out in the intelligent connected vehicles track with their outstanding performance. These projects will advance to Wuzhen, where they will compete for the Grand Prize, First Prize, Second Prize, and Third Prize in their respective fields.

Global internet competition of "Straight to Wuzhen” is one of the important events of the WIC Wuzhen Summit. By exploring new technologies, new models, and new formats of internet development, it serves as an important platform for internet projects, technology, talent, and capital cooperation. The competition is committed to promoting global internet cooperation and innovation, stimulating the vitality of internet entrepreneurship, gathering young internet talents, and promoting precise matchmaking of the internet industry in a high-quality manner globally, contributing to the thriving development of the global digital economy.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
