The Digital Silk Road is a novel concept intertwining economic and cultural exchanges, Sihan Bo Chen, head of Greater China for GSMA, said during an interview on the sidelines of the World Internet Conference Digital Silk Road Development Forum. Noting that the term "digital" is in close association with economic innovation, she underscored the fusion of traditional and modern cultures embodied in this new paradigm.

Sihan stressed the necessity of the Digital Silk Road in promoting technological advancement and the integration of economy and culture. It facilitates the exchange of ideas and the exploration of innovative technologies, crucial for navigating the current era of transformation, she said.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
