Themed on "Connectivity and Shared Prosperity", the World Internet Conference (WIC) Digital Silk Road Development Forum was held on April 16 in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

In an interview ahead of the event, Francis Gurry, vice-chair of the WIC, said that digital technology has allowed the world to communicate much more easily and enlarged the market for everyone.

This Digital Silk Road not only facilitates trade but also promotes cultural exchange, fostering understanding among diverse communities and creating opportunities for shared prosperity.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
