To showcase the achievements of international cooperation in cyberspace and to encourage practical international cooperation in the internet and related fields, the World Internet Conference (WIC) has been collecting international cooperation cases in the fields of Internet Infrastructure Construction, Online Cultural Exchanges and Mutual Learning, Innovative Development of Digital Economy, Cybersecurity Maintenance, and Global Governance in Cyberspace on a yearly basis since 2021, following the concept of building a community with a shared future in cyberspace. Each year, around 12 outstanding cases are selected for on-site release during the WIC Wuzhen Summit, and the Collection of Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace is compiled to include excellent cases.

What will you get?

If your case is selected as the Outstanding Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace

  • Publishers of the Outstanding Cases will be invited to participate in the 2024 WIC Wuzhen Summit, engaging in in-depth exchanges with high-level government representatives, experts, and representatives of leading internet companies from around the world.

  • Publishers of the Outstanding Cases will collaborate with a professional team to create and release a video on the cases, and will present the cases to global guests at the release event, as well as be awarded a commemorative trophy and medal.

  • Your case will receive widespread publicity from numerous media outlets during the WIC Wuzhen Summit, and be regularly promoted by WIC platforms.

  • Relevant content of the cases will have a higher chance of being showcased at the Wuzhen World Internet Science and Technology Museum.

  • Your case will be included in the 2024 Collection of Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace.

  • Representatives of the cases will be invited to participate in the WIC's "Journey into the Outstanding Cases" events and other regular activities.

Requirements for Submitted Cases

Content

The cases should include but be not limited to: projects, initiatives, programs, actions, meetings, training, communication, products, and services related to practices of international cooperation in cyberspace.

Category

The cases should fall into one of the following five categories:

1. Internet Infrastructure Construction

2. Online Cultural Exchanges and Mutual Learning

3. Innovative Development of Digital Economy

4. Cybersecurity Maintenance

5. Global Governance in Cyberspace 

Time

The practice case should be implemented or deployed after 2015.

Coverage

The case should involve international cooperation of at least two countries or regions.

How to Submit

Please register and submit the materials through the official website of the WIC (https://awards.wicinternet.org)  by 24:00 on June 20, 2024, Beijing time.

Event Procedure

Phase 1: Case Application (Now to June)

Please submit your case online within the specified time limit.

Phase 2: Case Review (July)

A Review Committee composed of internationally-renowned experts in various fields will conduct a comprehensive review and select the annual outstanding cases and the list of cases included in the Case Collection. This will not be made public before the official release.

Phase 3: Outstanding Cases Release Preparation (August to before the WIC Wuzhen Summit)

The WIC will notify the owners of the selected case to provide the necessary audio, video and graphic materials for the presentation. The owners of the outstanding cases will also make preparations for the on-site release.

Phase 4: Presentation of Outstanding cases (During the 2024 WIC Wuzhen Summit)

The WIC will hold a release event of the outstanding cases during the 2024 WIC Wuzhen Summit.
