Chris Brown, director of UK-China Business Environment Programme, British Standards Institution, was impressed by an artificial intelligence (AI) session at the World Internet Conference (WIC) and gave his opinion on AI empowering humans during an interview.
In the context of Industry 5.0, humans seem to be freed up by AI to do what they're good at, which is evolving, innovating, and being entrepreneurial, according to Brown. Will robots eventually replace human beings? He said that there is quite a huge amount of data needed for robots, and that humans have that ability to be one step ahead. It's really more about trying to allow humans to work together with robots rather than robots replacing us, he noted.
Brown said that the WIC involves many countries and players in the discussion, and it is a very good thing that China is at the forefront of bringing countries together, working collaboratively for social good. At the same time, the WIC will play a more important role and get the international recognition that it deserves, he added.
