As an integral part of the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, the release and presentation of Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace has played an active role in promoting the development of a community with a shared future in cyberspace. At the second World Internet Conference in 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping unveiled a vision of building a community with a shared future in cyberspace, elaborating on the “four principles” and “five-point proposal” on Internet development and governance, which are the embodiment of the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and offer wisdom and approach to the global development and governance of the internet.
2022 Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace
Aimed at fully demonstrating the fruitful results achieved and vivid practices taken by people across the globe in their endeavor to realize the vision of building a community with a shared future in cyberspace and making the development of the Internet better benefit mankind, we are launching an open call for the 2023 Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace from government departments, international organizations, social groups, research institutes, think tanks, universities, technical communities, enterprises, and other entities.
Requirements for Submitted Cases
Category
The cases should fall into one of the following five categories: Network Infrastructure Construction, Online Cultural Exchange, Innovative Development of Digital Economy, Safeguarding Cybersecurity, International Governance of Cyberspace.
Content
The content of cases should include but not limited to: projects, initiatives, programs, actions, meetings, training, communication, products, and services.
Time
The practice should be implemented or deployed after 2015.
Coverage
The case should cover at least two countries or regions.
Application materials
Documents, images and videos for the purposes of describing and verifying the cases should be submitted according to the online application platform.
How to Apply
Please submit your application at https://awards.wicinternet.org/ (Chinese website) or https://awards.wicinternet.org/en (English website) by midnight (Beijing time), June 21, 2023. Each applicant can submit multiple practice cases. Each case can only be submitted in ONE of the five categories. The online platform is the only channel for submitting cases.
Cases to be Released
A Review Committee will shortlist about 60 practice cases from the submissions and select 12 outstanding cases from the shortlist. The outstanding practice cases will be presented at a special event during the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit 2023.The shortlisted practice cases will be included in the Collection of Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace (2023).
Event Procedure
Phase 1: Case Application
(May to June)
Please submit your application at https://awards.wicinternet.org/ (Chinese website) or https://awards.wicinternet.org/en (English website) within the specified time.
Phase 2: Case Review
(July)
A Review Committee composed of internationally-renowned experts in various fields, conducts a comprehensive review and selects the annual outstanding cases and the list of cases included in the "Case Collection." It is not made public before the official release.
Phase 3: Outstanding Cases Release Preparation
(July to September)
The WIC will notify the selected case applicants to provide the necessary audio, video and graphic materials for the exhibition. The applicants for the annual outstanding cases will also cooperate with related work such as on-site release.
Phase 4: Presentation of Outstanding cases
(During the 2023 WIC Wuzhen Summit)
The WIC will hold a showcase event of outstanding cases during the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen in 2023.
The applicants for the annual outstanding cases will be invited to participate in the conference, and other applicants whose cases are included in the "Case Collection" will have the opportunity to be invited to attend the summit.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
