A symposium on Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace was held in Beijing on Feb 8.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) international organization invited nearly 30 representatives from organizations and institutions whose practice cases were presented at the release ceremony in 2022 to attend the symposium and hold in-depth exchanges and discussions on how to improve the influence of the event.

The Release and Presentation of Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace, a major event of the WIC Wuzhen Summit, has been held for two consecutive years. It covers the five major fields of Internet infrastructure construction, online cultural exchanges, innovative development of the digital economy, maintaining cybersecurity and building a global governance system in cyberspace, attracting submissions of cases from more than one hundred countries and regions.
Representatives from organizations and institutions, including the Dunhuang Academy, the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization, SAP (China) Co., Ltd., Cainiao Network Technology CO., Ltd., and the Macao Digitalization Development Association, offered suggestions as follows:
Making full use of the openness and inclusiveness of the WIC, promoting ecological cooperation and creating a platform for communication between governments and enterprises;
Creating diversified publicity methods and channels, including more cases in the presentation and carrying out publicity events on a regular basis, so as to enhance brand awareness of the event;
Offering incentives in more diversified forms to make the event more appealing;
Developing a standard guidance handbook that specifies procedures from case submission to review and release;
Organizing series of activities such as "Introduction on outstanding cases" to build a network of organizations and institutions.
The attendees also offered valuable suggestions on the development of the WIC international organization.
Nearly 30 representatives from organizations and institutions are invited to attend the symposium.
Relevant WIC officials thanked the participants for their support of the WIC international organization, and noted that the Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace has always kept up with the trends of global digital, internet-based and intelligent development. It has become a major platform for promoting exhibitions of international cooperation achievements in cyberspace and sharing of experience, and has received active feedback and application from participants.
The WIC will take the 10th anniversary of the Wuzhen Summit as an opportunity to make coordinated plans according to the suggestions tabled at the meeting. It will also make every effort to draw diversified participants, translate achievements into widely applicable outcomes, innovate forms of the activity and expand exchanges and cooperation to gather more energy for the building of a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
The WIC's Secretariat also briefed the attendees on general information about the WIC international organization, such as its historical background, missions, organizational structure, membership benefits, and major events to be held.
The symposium was organized by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, whose case titled "The Global 5G Event" was listed in the 2022 Practice Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace. The case provides an important communication platform for promoting global cooperation on standards and facilitates worldwide unification of the 5G standard.
As this year marks the 10th anniversary of the WIC Wuzhen Summit, the WIC will make continuous efforts to establish an international platform featuring shared growth through discussion and collaboration in the global internet field. It will sincerely invite international parties dedicated to promoting global internet development to work together on development plans for a better future.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
