The 2022 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit successfully concluded on Nov 11 in Wuzhen, East China's Zhejiang province.

Zhao Houlin, secretary-general of the International Telecommunication Union, gave a speech via video link at the 2022 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit.

"Using digital technology to promote social and economic development, bridge the development gap and achieve sustainable economic and social development in the post-COVID era is crucial. To meet these goals, however, requires considerable effort from the international community," said Zhao.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
