The 2022 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit (2022 WIC Wuzhen Summit) will be held in Wuzhen, east China's Zhejiang province from November 9 to 11. The theme this year is "Towards a Shared Digital Future in a Connected World - Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace". The 2022 WIC Wuzhen Summit will be hosted by the World Internet Conference, executively organized by Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, co-organized by the Office of the Zhejiang Cyberspace Affairs Commission, Zhejiang Economy and Information Department, Jiaxing Municipal People's Government and Tongxiang Prefectural People's Government, and supported by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA).
The 2022 WIC Wuzhen Summit, the first annual meeting of the WIC International Organization, will be held both online and offline. Thousands of guests will attend the event in person. Nearly 2,000 representatives from governments, international organizations, industry associations, internet enterprises, universities, think tanks and research institutes from over 120 countries and regions will attend the summit online or offline, having discussions on the theme of the summit and voicing their proposals for building a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
During the 2022 WIC Wuzhen Summit, there will be the Release Ceremony for 2022 World Leading Internet Scientific and Technological Achievements, Release and Presentation of Outstanding Cases of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace, "Straight to Wuzhen" Global Internet Competition, and the Light of Internet Expo. In addition, China Internet Development Report 2022 and the World Internet Development Report 2022 will be released at the Wuzhen Summit.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
