China Pavilion Online provides online exhibitions and transaction services for Chinese and foreign audiovisual industries. It expands the supply of international content with Internet thinking, and promotes people-to-people connection with radio and television audiovisual advantages, and creates a never-ending Chinese Pavilion.

In response to the central government's initiative on building a community with a shared future in cyberspace to improve the development of the audiovisual industry in cyberspace, National Radio and Television Administration established “China Pavilion Online" in 2020 by actively utilizing Internet technology to enable the development of the audiovisual industry and international exchanges and cooperation. The platform, effectively responding to the impact of the global epidemic, provides online exhibition and exchange services for Chinese and foreign audiovisual institutions, audiovisual programs and technical equipment, and further facilitates and internationalizes cultural exchanges, mutual learning and media cooperation between China and foreign countries.

Following The Trend of Media Convergence, the Platform Provides Online Services for the Audio-visual Industries of Radio & Television Network at Home and Abroad

The bilingual website of “China Pavilion Online” was launched on June 15, 2020 for trial operation. The platform provides services including information release, online exhibition, copyright transaction, interactive communication, industry datacenter and think tank. Up to now, it has cooperated with 10 international TV festivals, such as MIPTV, WCM and NATPE, organizing institutions to participate in the exhibition; Special zones are set up for more than 20 international festivals, such as Shanghai TV Festival, China Internet Audio & Video Convention, Dubai Content Trading Market and Guangzhou Cartoon Festiva; online promotion and negotiation activities have been held, including the global broadcast of Chinese program "One Hundred Years of Splendid Audio-visual Sharing”, “Reunion of Tens of thousands of Families, Happy Spring Festival" short video thematic exhibition, the online broadcast of Minning Town, the Chinese and foreign animation forum “Opportunities under the Trend of Streaming Media”, etc. Programs such as China: Time of Xi, Innovation of China and With You have been promoted to 251 institutions in more than 100 countries and regions.

In Response to the impact of COVID-19, It has helped to boost the audio-visual industry development and international exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries

In 2020, impacted by the epidemic, global film festivals and exhibitions were canceled or postponed. As a result, domestic film and television institutions were unable to get new customers on-site or retain existing customers offline, and international content production and supply were temporarily suspended China Pavilion Online represents as an important transformation to deal with the impact of the epidemic, to empower international content supply with Internet thinking, and to improve the service of radio and television and online audiovisual industry through Internet technology. Besides, it provides platform supporting the resumption of audiovisual industry and further reduces the cost of international copyright transaction. By the end of the first half of 2021, it has had exclusive pages for more than 100 domestic and foreign leading radio and TV network audiovisual institutions, information about more than 3,600 international audiovisual buyers, nearly 1,000 Chinese excellent works, and more than 1,500 domestic and foreign industry news, and reached an intended contract amount of 9.33 million dollars. At present, it has received more than 400,000 hits, including more than 210,000 visits from overseas IP users.

It Gives Full Play to the Advantages of Radio and Television Audio-visual Industry, and Promotes People-to-people Exchanges through Cultural Trade

Since 2004, National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) has pooled domestic excellent film and television institutions and excellent program resources every year, and participated in internationally renowned film and television festivals and exhibitions in the form of “China Pavilion”, which effectively promoted the overseas sales of Chinese programs and accumulated rich market resources and overseas communication experience. According to incomplete statistics, in recent years, the annual sales through “China Pavilion” has accounted for more than 30% of the total sales of audio-visual content products in China, making it an important platform for Chinese audio-visual institutions to strengthen international trade. Through the building of China Pavilion Online, NRTA will further play a leading role in helping Chinese and foreign audiovisual institutions to promote people-to-people exchanges through cultural trade. At present, it has built trade cooperation relations with national radio and television audio-visual institutions in 16 countries along the Belt and Road, including Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Lebanon, Pakistan, Laos, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Serbia and Hungary. At the same time, it has established cooperation intentions on network audio-visual institutions and copyright agencies with western countries. such as the United States, UK, France, Germany and Japan. It will continue to uphold the concept of open cooperation and innovative development, and contribute to building a community with a shared future in cyberspace.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
