Introduction
In 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping, when addressing the Second World Internet Conference, put forward the vision to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace, elaborating on the "four principles" and "five-point proposal" on Internet development and governance, which resonated well with other members of the international community. Over the years, by grasping the opportunities brought by digitalization, networking and intelligentization, a wide array of influential, efficient and beneficial cooperative projects has come into fruition. In order to showcase the best practice of these excellent projects, we plan to present the activity of the best practice of "Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace" during World Internet Conference in Wuzhen.
The event will unveil a new version of exhibition, taking President Xi Jinping's vision of "Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace" as the fundamental principal guidance. It aims to fully display the five paths to realization worldwide, from global internet infrastructure, online cultural exchanges and mutual learning, innovative development of the digital economy, maintaining cybersecurity and building a global governance system in cyberspace, and vividly represent the story of international exchange and cooperation in cyberspace.
Since April, the WIC committee has been actively calling for departments, internet companies, technical communities, research institutions and universities to participate in the collection of best practices both at home and abroad. It has received positive response, and applications poured in. The review committee was established with the authoritative professional from domestic and foreign, the Vice Chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Qinmin serves as the Chairmen, Vice Chairman of Social Building Committee of the National People's Congress of China, President of China Federation of Internet Societies Ren Xianliang and Former Director General of WIPO Francis Gurry serve as the Vice Chairmen. The committee reviewed collected cases in line with the principles of objectivity, fairness, and equity, and selected a batch of success stories and outstanding ones which are highly aligned with the vision, of great international influence, social value and narrated in varied forms.
A Collection of Success Stories of Best Practice of Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace will be formally released. The presenters of outstanding success stories shall display and demonstrate, vividly telling stories of international exchanges and cooperation in cyberspace.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
