Prior to and during the 2021 World Internet Conference, to ensure the orderly use of various radio frequencies and the proper operation of every piece of radio equipment and radio station, and to minimize harmful radio interference, the following matters are announced:

First, prior to and during the 2021 World Internet Conference, any individual or organization that needs to use any type of radio equipment on the restricted list, must apply for approval to use such equipment at the Conference venues or in other designated areas. The application shall be submitted to the Information Work Dept. of the Conference Committee.

In accordance with management needs, the Information Work Dept. may temporarily limit or adjust the working frequency or other technical parameters of radio equipment that has been granted an administrative license.

Any individual or organization that needs to use radio equipment that must have an administrative license as prescribed by laws and regulations shall apply to the Information Work Dept., which subsequently shall help the individual or organization apply for approval from the Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang.

The Information Work Dept. is in charge of the use of radio equipment frequencies which do not need to be granted an administrative license as prescribed by laws and regulations for the purpose of preventing mutual interference.

Second, the aforementioned radio equipment shall be sent to the location for radio service designated by the Information Work Dept. for inspection before being used at the Conference venues or in other designated areas. For those pieces of equipment or stations which are difficult to carry, appointment for on-site inspection may be made. The Information Work Dept. will attach the special label "Radio Equipment Access" to the equipment or stations which have been inspected and found to be qualified. Radio equipment and radio stations may only be operated in certain areas, at certain times and within a certain technical scope specified on the label. Radio equipment without the special label "Radio Equipment Access" attached shall not be allowed to enter the Conference venues or other designated areas.

Third, neither an application nor the special label "Radio Equipment Access" are needed for using mobile phones with cellular networks or wireless Internet cards, laptops and tablet PCs with built-in internet and Wi-Fi, automobile remote keys, wireless camera shutter releases, or other similar devices at the Conference venues or other designated areas.

Fourth, radio transmitting equipment which is intended to enter the country temporarily prior to and during the World Internet Conference, shall be recorded at the Economy and Information Technology Department of Zhejiang before being used at the Conference venues or other designated areas, and shall after the Conference be shipped out in accordance with customs regulations.

Fifth, this Notice will be implemented from Sep. 24th and cease to be effective when the World Internet Conference concludes.

Sixth, the Radio business processing locations of the World Internet Conference 2021 are as follows:

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
