SINGAPORE -- Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC is partnering Macquarie Asset Management and artificial intelligence (AI) company Anthropic to establish Theseus Infrastructure, a platform to develop and operate data centers to support Anthropic's growing computing needs.
The platform will develop purpose-built facilities, initially in the United States, with Anthropic as the anchor tenant under long-term agreements, the companies said in a statement on Monday.
Funds managed by Macquarie Asset Management and GIC will jointly own the platform and provide most of the equity funding for each project, according to the statement.
The partnership combines Macquarie's expertise in large-scale digital infrastructure with GIC's global infrastructure investment experience as Anthropic expands capacity to meet rising demand for its Claude AI services.
