Lesotho envoy: Harnessing AI to empower cultural preservation and forge new pathways for digital cultural development
On Jan 15, the Journey into the Digital Porcelain Capital, part of the Journey into Outstanding Cases event hosted by the World Internet Conference, was held in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province. Chabana Chabana, first secretary of the embassy of the Kingdom of Lesotho in China, said that digital technologies enable countries to better understand one another and to find development paths suited to their own national conditions. In his view, artificial intelligence has opened up new avenues for the storage and presentation of cultural information, allowing cultural relics, languages and other heritage assets to be preserved more effectively.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
