At this year's World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, professor Xia Lie, dean of the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries at Hangzhou Normal University, highlighted how the comprehensive global expansion of China's online cultural creations — represented by the "New Three": online literature, online films and dramas, and online games — has become an unstoppable trend.

He noted that this global rise is a natural outcome of China's world-class efforts in creative transformation and innovative development. As digital cultural industries further develop, new driving forces — particularly in emerging profit-making models — are fueling the continued growth of the "New Three."

He emphasized that China's creative industries aim to deliver works that not only delight general audiences but also earn recognition from professional critics, international awards committees, and global intellectuals.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
