At the 2025 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit, Guan Pingchao, vice president of the Zhejiang Writers' Association, shared his reflections on how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping creative expression and literary production.

Guan noted that this year's summit felt very different from his previous visits — the venue was filled with AI innovations, humanoid robots, and even a "cyber-stage" showcasing digital creativity. To him, this demonstrates how profoundly technology is transforming not only industry but also art and culture.

He emphasized that AI should not replace human creativity, but rather complement it. "AI is not simply about letting machines write everything," he explained. "It serves as a writing assistant that helps creators search, compare, and refine information more efficiently." Guan believes that, for ordinary writers, AI has become a free, efficient, and truly helpful creative partner.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
