Gheida Abdala Omar, founder of the "Girls I Save" platform and an ITU Generation Connect Youth Envoy from Kenya, joined the 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit as a member of the Global Youth Leadership Program. She emphasized the vital role of youth in shaping the digital future – urging young people to not only use technology, but to actively contribute to its development and policies.

At the summit, Gheida highlighted her platform's work in connecting youth with STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) mentors and promoting digital safety. She believes that the next decade will be crucial for technological advancements – especially in artificial intelligence – and young people must be ready to lead these changes.
