Gheida Abdala Omar: Championing STEM education and digital safety for young girls
Gheida Abdala Omar from Kenya is a 2025 World Internet Conference Global Youth Leader, and founder of the "Girls I Save" platform. Through this tech-driven initiative, she supports young girls in pursuing STEM education while ensuring their digital safety online.
Joining the Global Youth Leadership Program, Omar aims to continue her mission to create a more secure and inclusive cyberspace for all young people. She emphasizes the importance of shared responsibility in building a digital future where every youth can interact freely and safely.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
