Co-hosted by the China National Intellectual Property Administration, Shanghai Municipal People's Government, and the World Intellectual Property Organization, and organized by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration and Xuhui District People's Government, Shanghai, the forum will feature keynote speeches and thematic talks.
Participants will also join roundtable discussions to explore how intellectual property can support AI innovation and drive economic growth.
Launched in 2003, the forum has held 21 sessions, showcasing China's IP achievements. Memoranda with WIPO in 2014, 2018, and 2023 strengthened cooperation and global reach. Senior officials are expected to attend.
This year's theme, Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence, will align with China's national IP strategies, support global governance under WIPO, and reinforce Shanghai's goal as an international IP hub. By holding discussions with foreign experts, the forum will promote innovation, economic growth, and social progress.
The forum will stream live at 10 am on Oct 18 via Yicai Video and Eastday, giving global audiences full access to all sessions, including keynote speeches, thematic talks, and roundtable discussions in real time.
