Dame Wendy Hall, fellow of the Royal Society, fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, regius professor of Computer Science at the University of Southampton in the UK and co-chair of the World Internet Conference Specialized Committee on Artificial Intelligence (WIC SC on AI), visited the WIC on Sept 24 for exchanges on AI research work.

WIC representatives outlined the structure and research programs of the organization, expressed appreciation for Hall's support for the WIC SC on AI, and invited her to attend the upcoming Wuzhen Summit and other major events.

Hall commended the specialized committee's research achievements, shared suggestions on strengthening international cooperation in AI and the internet, and expressed her willingness to continuing active engagement in WIC activities to advance global dialogue and collaboration on AI development and governance.

Zeng Yi, co-chair of the WIC SC on AI and director of the International Research Center for AI Ethics and Governance of the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with other WIC officials, joined the discussions with Hall.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
