On May 19, a delegation from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), led by its President Zhao Zhongxiu, visited the World Internet Conference (WIC) to discuss advancing cooperation with the WIC Digital Academy.

A representative of the WIC Secretariat expressed appreciation for UIBE's valuable support in the development of the academy. The representative noted that both sides are well-positioned to leverage the WIC's platform resources and the university's academic strengths to promote capacity-building within the digital economy. 

This collaboration is envisioned to play a votal role in cultivating international interdisciplinary talents and driving the digital transformation of enterprises, thereby providing insights to industrial upgrading and high-quality economic growth, the representative added.

Zhao reaffirmed UIBE's commitment to this partnership. As a WIC member and one of the academy's inaugural partners, UIBE attaches great significance to this initiative. He noted that this visit was specifically timed to coincide with the establishment of UIBE's School of Economics, presenting a timely opportunity to further deepen the collaboration.

Cao Xiaoyong, dean of the School of Economics at UIBE, introduced the academic planning for the digital economy discipline, outlining the strategic direction and key initiatives.

During the discussions, the two sides exchanged views and proposed a framework for cooperation in several areas, including the development of a joint training system, the promotion of resource sharing for industry-education integration, and the creation of specialized cooperation programs. 


The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
