China has issued a guideline on bolstering the construction of new-type urban infrastructure by the in-depth integration of a new generation of information technology and urban infrastructure construction.
According to a guideline jointly released by the general offices of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council on Thursday, the country will construct and upgrade intelligent municipal infrastructure, as well as promote the coordinated development of smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected vehicles.
By 2027, significant progress will be made in the construction of new-type urban infrastructure, providing strengthened support for the building of resilient cities, while a number of experience and practices that can be copied and expanded will be established, the guideline said.
It noted that by 2030, the construction of new-type urban infrastructure will achieve remarkable results, while promoting the establishment of a batch of high-level resilient cities, elevating urban safety and resilience and ensuring safer, more orderly, smarter and more efficient urban operations.
Efforts will be made to bolster the development of 5G plus internet of vehicles, promote the application of assisted driving and autonomous driving, accelerate the deployment of intelligent sensing systems for urban road infrastructure, and enhance the level of vehicle-road collaboration, the guideline added.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
