The World Internet Conference (WIC) Digital Silk Road Cross-Border E-Commerce Training was held in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, from April 16 to 18. Participants from 27 countries gathered at the event.
The training included courses on the development trends of cross-border e-commerce, policies and regulations, experiences from comprehensive pilot zones, infrastructure development, cross-border service processes, and smart logistics in cross-border e-commerce.
Experts, scholars, and senior representatives from renowned international organizations, universities, and leading cross-border e-commerce enterprises delivered lectures.
In addition to the lectures, participants attended the opening and main forum of the Digital Silk Road Development Forum. They also visited several sites for hands-on learning, including Xi'an port, home of the Chang'an China-Europe freight trains, the Xi'an comprehensive bonded zone cross-border e-commerce export consolidation center, and the Caijiao Xi'an Non-Air Transit Center.

Ren Xianliang, secretary-general of the WIC, attended both the opening and closing ceremonies of the training and delivered speeches. He hoped that participants could develop a multidimensional understanding of cross-border e-commerce through the program and encouraged them to apply what they've learned to their work.

Binyam Fikru Kebede, a representative of participants, said that the training enhanced his understanding of the Digital Silk Road initiative, international cooperation, digital rural development, and global sustainable development. What’s more, he said the program deepened participants' knowledge of the global trends in cross-border e-commerce, high-quality development, and international regulatory frameworks.
Another participant, Arkar Htun, noted that the forum and the training program provided a comprehensive overview of the significance of the Digital Silk Road in fostering economic growth and international collaboration. It also strengthened participants' understanding of the e-commerce ecosystem, strategies for promoting high-quality development, and the challenges facing cross-border e-commerce, he added.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
