COPENHAGEN -- Denmark leads the European Union (EU) in terms of digital media consumption, according to recent survey data released by Statistics Denmark on Thursday.
Statistics Denmark revealed that 91 percent of Denmark's population actively participate in social media usage. This marks an increase from the 85 percent ratio recorded in last year's data gathering exercise, the statistics office said.
Statistics Denmark collects data on the use of information technology (IT) annually. The 2023 survey also revealed that 100 percent of the population aged 16 to 19 are regularly engaged in social media activities.
This year's data was collected through 4,080 interviews conducted between April and June, representing a diverse sample of the population aged between 16 and 74.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
