The WIC has innovated its working mechanism, enriched members’ rights and services, and facilitated various conferences and activities over the past year. These included a member representatives symposium, the release ceremony for World Leading Internet Scientific and Technological Achievements, and a members' activity day. The WIC has continuously encouraged all relevant parties to take part in such activities, in order to build a close and highly-interactive global cyberspace community.

The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
