China has built over 2.64 million 5G base stations as of the end of the first quarter of 2023, the country's top industry regulator said on Thursday.
Zhao Zhiguo, spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at a news conference China has also built 110 cities with gigabit networks, and total users of gigabit networks now exceeds 100 million.
Moreover, 5G has been applied in various fields such as industry, healthcare, education, transportation and tourism and has been fully integrated into 52 major categories of the national economy, Zhao said.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
